Menno School District

Trapper Cheer Camp for Menno is after school on Monday Jan. 19th, Tuesday Jan. 20th, and Wednesday Jan. 21st from 3:30 – 5:00pm in the Old Gym. Students can be picked up from the Old Gym doors. The performance is halftime during the Varsity Boys Game on Thursday January 22nd. Please have students in the Old Gym by 7pm that evening wearing their cheer camp t-shirts. Trappers GBB game report from Saturday via the Yankton P&D online Corsica-Stickney 60, Scotland-Menno 30 SCOTLAND — Braylee Bordewyk and Sophie DeLange combined for 39 points to lead Corsica-Stickney past Scotland-Menno on Saturday. Bordewyk scored 20 points and DeLange had 19 points for Corsica-Stickney. Hadynn Johnson added 12 points for the Jaguars. Lexie McNinch led Scotland-Menno with nine points. Corsica-Stickney, 4-2, travels to Winner on Thursday. Scotland-Menno travels to Centerville on Tuesday.

Boys' Basketball: Jaguars Rally Past Trappers 47-41 SCOTLAND — Corsica-Stickney rallied from a 14-7 first-quarter deficit to edge Scotland-Menno 47-41 in boys’ basketball action on Saturday. Before the game, Scotland High School dedicated the court in honor of former longtime basketball coach Tom Schlimgen. Jaxson Feenstra led Corsica-Stickney with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jett Kemp had nine points and six assists, Sawyer Schmidt scored nine points and Aiden Clites added three steals in the victory. Erick Buechler finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for Scotland-Menno. Micah Goehring grabbed eight rebounds. Izayah Ulmer added three assists. Corsica-Stickney, 3-4, travels to Mitchell Christian on Tuesday. Scotland-Menno travels to Centerville on Tuesday. Corsica-Stickney won the JV game 39-35.

Tonight the Trappers take on the Corsica-Stickney Cougars at home in Scotland! JV games will start at 1:15pm, Varsity Girls at 2:30pm, and Varsity Boys at 4:00pm. Good luck tonight Trappers!

There will be a court naming ceremony for Coach Tom Schlimgen tonight between the Varsity games.

2nd and 3rd Grade Boys Basketball scrimmage games will happen during halftime of both varsity games.

McCook Cen.-Mont. 61, Scotland-Menno 50 MENNO — McCook Central-Montrose built a 10-point lead after one quarter and kept Scotland-Menno at bay, claiming a 61-50 victory over the Trappers in boys’ basketball action on Monday. Lane Hanisch scored 16 points, and Ben Wiebersick had 14 points, seven assists and three steals for MCM. Andrew Sabers posted four assists and Dawson Dorr added 10 rebounds in the victory. Hunter Yosten led Scotland-Menno with 18 points and seven rebounds. Izayah Ulmer had 10 points, four assists and four steals. Erick Buechler added nine points for the Trappers. MCM, 5-2, hosts Beresford on Friday in Salem. Scotland-Menno, 2-4, hosts Corsica-Stickney on Saturday.
