Community and School Library

The Menno School-Community Library is open to students and the general public. The media available in the library include books, magazines, and computers. Internet access is available to patrons at no charge using available school computers. There is also a scanner available for community use and USB drives are available for purchase from the community librarian. Please do not ask to scan any copyrighted material such as books, magazines, newspaper articles and certain pictures. Pictures you have taken are OK to scan. If in doubt, ask the librarian for assistance.

Library Hours

The library is open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm when school is in session. Additionally, it is open outside school hours according to the following schedule:

Wednesday evenings: 4:00 - 7:00 pm

Saturdays 10:00 am to 2:30 pm

To call the library dial 605-387-5161. When you hear the recording you can quick-dial 6 or dial 1470.

When school is in session please use the main entrance to the school located on the northeast corner of the complex and check-in at the office as you enter. On Wednesday evening and Saturday morning please use the library entrance located on the north side. There is a book drop inside the library/wellness center entrance for use at any time.

The library now offers eBooks and other online resources through OverDrive. https://southdakota.overdrive.com/

OverDrive is a free service to members of the Menno School-Community Library. If you do not know your UserID number for the Menno Library please contact the librarian during community hours.

You may also download an app to use on your mobile device by going to http://app.overdrive.com or going to your device's app store. When you set up your app you do not sign up for an Overdrive account. Rather, you sign up using a library card, The Menno Community Library is listed under the South Dakota Digital Consortium.

WorldBook Online is provided by a subscription from the South Dakota State Library. Within the school network, you can access this resource without any more information. From home or anywhere outside of the school network you will need an SDLN Library card barcode and password.
