The Wolves 5th and 6th grade boys basketball team played the FA/M Bearcats this afternoon. The boys played a tough game but lost 21-13.

Feb 19: 8 vs. 9. Game played at higher seed. Teams may take the floor 15 minutes prior to game time. Game time is 7:00PM.
Feb 20: 1 vs. 8-9 winner, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, and 4 vs. 5. Games played at #1 and #2 seed. Teams may take the floor 15 minutes prior to game time. Game times are 6:00 and 7:30PM. There will be no shooting around during halftime of the game.
Feb 22: Winner of 1,8,9 vs. winner of 4,5 at 6:00PM and winner of 2,7 vs. winner of 3,6 at 7:30PM at highest seed, yet to be determined.
Tonight is Senior Night at our Double Header against Freeman Academy-Marion! Girl's Basketball seniors will be introduced before the varsity girls starting lineups, and then the pep band, cheerleaders, and Boy's Basketball seniors before the starting lineups of the varsity boys game. Senior parents will get in free to the game for senior night. JV starts at 4:30pm, Varsity Girl's at 5:45pm, and Varsity Boy's at 7:30pm.

Congratulations to Kyra Marlow for being selected to participate in the South Dakota Middle School All-State Band! Kyra will join other 6th-8th grade band students from across the state to prepare music and perform in a final concert on March, 2nd in the Mitchell Performing Arts Center at 3:00pm.
Congratulations to the following students on being selected for the Area Band Festival! The Area Band Fest is an honor band made up of select students from surrounding band programs. The bands will meet at Bon Homme High School on March 19th. Concert is at 5:00pm.


Penny Wars will be February 26th – March 1st! All proceeds will be given to Kobee Sherman and his family. Coins count positively towards a class’ total and dollar bills count negatively toward class totals. Students who want their class to win will place pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters into their own buckets and place dollar bills into other classrooms’ buckets. The two classes with the most amount of points and the least amount of points at the end of the week will win a breakfast pizza party! Buckets will be at Total Stop and there will be one located in each of the PK-5 classrooms and 6-12 first period classes. If you have any questions, please contact carly.sternhagen@k12.sd.us.

White Out for Cancer Night for Kobee Sherman of V-H, over $3000 was raised to support him on his fight against cancer --no one fights alone!

Middle school students were showing a little FCCLA and White Out Cancer spirit today.


Congratulations to the following middle school students who will be competing at the Cornbelt Conference Middle School Oral Interp Contest in Hurley on February 29th. 8th grades students are Emmalyn Heckenlaible (poetry), Bailey Neuharth (humorous), October Reed (oratory), and Brooks Schoenfish (dramatic). Seventh grade students are Traiton Baker (poetry), Leah Crick (humorous), Justin Gerlach (oratory), and Emma Rempfer (dramatic).
Congratulations to the Elementary for winning the Souper Bowl Food drive contest! Thank you to everyone who donated food. The Bethany Food Pantry was very appreciative of Menno's donations!

MENNO — Andes Central/Dakota Christian picked up a 20-point boys basketball win on Monday.
ACDC’s Hunter Loeffler recorded 19 points, while Garth Maas added 11 points. Peter Backes posted eight points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Menno’s Izayah Ulmer had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Tonight is our Double Header against Viborg-Hurley and the "Whiteout Cancer Night for Kobee Sherman"! We would like to encourage all in attendance to wear white in support of Viborg-Hurley student Kobee Sherman. JV games will start at 4:30pm, Varsity Girl's at 5:45pm, and Varsity Boy's at 7:30pm.

Military Appreciation Night will be Friday, February 16 in the Scotland HS gym. There will be coffee and treats in the community room for veterans beginning at 6 pm. The SDANG will once again be bringing a large flag to display for the national anthem. Any veterans who would like to participate in this display, please be at the gym by 6:15 and meet on the north side of the stage.
