High School Art students compete in ART Wars at the Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts on USD's campus in Vermillion. There are over 200 students competing today!



Some big elementary awards went out yesterday! Our Character Counts winners did an amazing job exhibiting Courage during the month of January. Those earning the honor included Ava K., Ryken G., Charlotte H., Christina B., Ezra R., Lillian W., and Thanatos Y.

The Menno Elementary Student of the Month, who served as a positive role model and displayed many of the characteristics we've learned about, was 4th grader Callie Huber!

We will have a pep rally for BOTH boy’s and girl’s basketball teams before the first round of region games for the girls. The date for this is unknown at this time since we do not exactly know when they girls will play. It will either be on Friday February 16th (since we are off the Monday the day the game would actually be) or Tuesday February 20th. Regardless, the pep rally will start at 2:45pm! Join us to cheer on our Girl's and Boy's Teams before their regions games!!

SOUPER BOWL STATS: The Elementary is currently in the lead with 170 points, followed by Middle School with 66, and High School with 24. The winners will receive a movie and treat as their reward next week. End of the day Friday is the last opportunity to donate food. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

The FCCLA Chapter is selling greeting cards. The Cards for a Cause fundraiser runs through February 12. Each card box contains 30 high-quality, hand embellished cards for just $30. The FCCLA and FFA Chapters are hosting the annual Souper Bowl Food Drive February 5 - 9. Soup, crackers, and other non-perishable food items can be dropped off in classrooms or the office. All of the food will be donated to the Bethany Food Pantry in Freeman. Thank you.
February 7, 2024, marks the 38th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day. “Lead Her Forward” continues to be the theme for this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day by acknowledging the power of sports to unlock her limitless potential. Menno High School supports National Girls and Women in Sports Day to increase visibility for female athletes and emphasize the positive influence of sport participation.

Tonight, before the start of the varsity boys game, we will honor Ashton Massey, Kaelie Derby, and Maggie Miller with a certificate. These female student-athletes have excelled in several sports at Menno High School throughout their four years. These girls have participated in two sports each season throughout their high school career. These athletes have exemplified qualities of excellence in sports skills, leadership, self-discipline, and perseverance.

Bon Homme 71, Menno 35
TYNDALL — Bon Homme built a 42-16 halftime lead on the way to a 71-35 victory over Menno in girls’ basketball action on Monday.
Jurni Vavruska finished with 16 points and nine assists for Bon Homme (11-4). Taycee Ranek and Kenadee Kozak each had 12 points. Olivia Bures added 11 points and four assists in the victory.
Kaelie Derby led Menno with 15 points. Ashton Massey added 11 points for the Wolves (1-12).
Bon Homme travels to Bonesteel to face Burke today (Tuesday). Menno travels to Centerville on Thursday.
Tonight in Menno, the Boy's Basketball team will play Canistota with JV starting at 6:15pm and Varsity to follow. Join us tonight to cheer on our Menno Wolves!

Mrs. Knodel is looking for people who would like to share a craft they enjoy with her students. Some of the crafts would be crocheting, knitting, embroidering, quilting, wood burning, stained glass, etc. The students will be a part of a craft class from 9:55 - 10:40. Sixth Grade English students are working on creating cause and effect essay. Recently, they used an investigation trail to identify the cause and effects of different scenarios. They worked in teams to get the correct answers.
