Monday's spotlight shines on our middle school English teacher! Mrs. Knodel is in her 26th year as part of the Menno School District, and she entered education in part because her mom and aunt told her she would make a great teacher. Should she ever find the time, she’d like to write a book titled, “Help! I’m in Middle School and I Can’t Get Out.” If Mrs. Knodel had her own TED Talk, the focus would be on autism – specifically how having a person with autism in your family can change the dreams you had for them, but in a positive way. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our students and school, Mrs. Knodel. We appreciate all you do!

Congratulations to Lauren Schoenfish, Will Stokes, Ervin Schrock, and Brooks Schoenfish on their participation in the 2025 SDSU Honor Band this weekend! Ervin and Brooks were members of the Festival Band and Lauren and Will were members of the Honor Winds. These students worked hard along side other selected students from South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota to put on a fantastic finale performance!

Today’s spotlight shines on one of our amazing Administrative Assistants! Mrs. Sayler is in her third year in the office, and amazingly, has lived to talk about it. She would like to travel to Europe one day to visit some of the places her father was stationed during World War II. Mrs. Sayler’s #1 rule in life is the Golden Rule, her favorite homemade meal is hamburger rolls and sweet rice, and she likes to collect dust bunnies under her furniture. We’re grateful for Mrs. Sayler and want to thank her for all she does for the office staff, our students, and the Menno school!

Tomorrow is a 1:00pm dismissal for teacher In-Service.

Thank you to the several (hundred) folks who caught the spelling error in our last Business "Manager" ad. It's probably important to note at this time that the graphic designer was a history teacher by trade. 😉
