The #5 seeded Scotland/Menno Trappers Boys Basketball team will play #4 seeded Mt. Vernon/Plankinton in the first round of Region 5A Tourney. They play on Tuesday, March 4 in Plankinton. Game time is 7 pm. SDHSAA ticket prices of $6/adults and $4/students. Go Trappers.

Summer Sports Signup: Registration forms for 8U-12U baseball, 8U-18U softball and swim team are going home to the youngest child in the family. Middle School and High School students who do not have siblings in K-5 please pick up a form in the office. Please return completed forms to your elementary teacher, the school office or mail them to MAC, PO Box 208, Menno SD 57045. Forms are due Friday March 7th. If you have questions, please DO NOT call the school but refer to the form for contact information!
The Trappers were defeated by the MVP Titans tonight in Region 5A 50-18. The Trappers finish the season 10-12. Congrats on a good first season for the Trapper coop! Thank you seniors.

Tonight our #3 Seeded Scotland/Menno Trappers Girls Basketball Team heads to Plankinton to take on the #2 Seeded Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans in the second round of the 5A Region Tournament! The game starts at 7pm and promises to be an exciting evening of basketball. Good luck tonight ladies!

Today we’re happy to shine a spotlight on our 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Massey! It’s her third year in the Menno district and 11th as a teacher. She collects plants and mini things, and her favorite homemade meal is 2nd day roast (going to have to Google that one). Mrs. Massey says she’s inspired by people who don’t let setbacks in life get them down. Her favorite saying is, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” Thank you, Mrs. Massey, for your dedication to our students (and athletes), and for all you do here at Menno school!

Spring Sport Photos will be Tuesday March 25th at 9:45am in Scotland. Students on the JH Track, HS Track, Softball, Baseball, and Golf Teams will be bussed over to Scotland that morning. We will take group photos for HOSA, Quiz Bowl, Journalism, and One-Act Play around noon back in Menno that day as well.

We love seeing our students in their work study internship learning new things. Trent is working on the farm. Sam working in the Scotland hospital lab. Haylee and Macee helping at the Menno Olivet Care Center in various jobs including activities, Physical Therapy and maintenance. Huge thanks to all the individuals and businesses that have allowed our students this amazing opportunity.
Scotland/Menno will play Mt. Vernon/Plankinton at Plankinton on Thursday, Feb. 27, in the semifinal round of the Region 5A GBB Tourney.
Game time is 7:00 pm. Admission is set by the SDHSAA--$6.00 adults/$4.00 students.
Bus will leave Menno at 4:25 and from Scotland at 4:45. Players and cheerleaders will ride together. Good luck Trappers!
Desiree Yosten, Macee Haase, Lily Love, Fallon Rich, and Samantha Quiram attended the regional ART WARS Competition at USD in Vermillion on Friday, February 21st. Over 300 high school students from the eastern half of South Dakota competed in this event.
Students could choose two of the following categories to compete in, drawing, painting, clay, photography and digital art. Students were given one hour and 45 minutes to create an artwork based on a prompt given by the professor leading each category in the competition. No one knew the prompt ahead of time. Students wrote an artist's statement to explain the content of the artwork to the judges. Judges were chosen by the South Dakota High School Activities Association, only the top three students in each category advance to the State ART WARS Competition in Aberdeen. Menno students may not have made it to the State competition this year, but all of our students did very well and enjoyed the opportunity to attend this event.

Scotland-Menno 49, Bon Homme 42
MENNO — The Scotland-Menno Trappers claimed a 49-42 victory over the Bon Homme Cavaliers in the Region 5A prep girls’ basketball quarterfinal on Tuesday.
For the Trappers, Lexie McNinch totaled 14 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Trinity Bitz finished with 11 points. Ellyana Ulmer tallied nine points and Nora Robb finished with five steals and four assists.
For the Cavaliers, Kenadee Kozak tallied 18 points. Addisyn Reynolds totaled eight points.
Scotland-Menno, 10-11, travels to face Mount Vernon-Plankinton in the Region 5A semifinal on Thursday. Bon Homme finishes its season with a record of 6-15.
