Congrats to the Trappers on their big win last night at Gregory.
Game recap from Mitchell Republic online.
Scotland/Menno 36, Gregory 18
GREGORY — Trailing 18-6 in the second quarter, Scotland/Menno scored 30 unanswered points to rally and win a nine-man football matchup Friday night on the road.
The Trappers hit two big passes to flip the game in their favor, including a 70-yard touchdown pass from Izayah Ulmer to Bryce Sattler to tie the game at 18, followed by a 61-yard touchdown pass from Ulmer to Kory Keppen to give Scotland/Menno a 24-18 edge. In the fourth quarter, Hunter Yosten had a 1-yard touchdown plunge and Sattler scored from 13 yards out to cap the Trappers’ comeback. Trent Guthmiller also had a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. It was the first nine-man game for Scotland/Menno since the co-op started in 2021 and played the previous three seasons in Class 11B.
The Gorillas’ Lincoln Juracek had a hand in all three touchdowns in the first half. He threw for two scores, including a 39-yard touchdown strike to Luke Stukel, while also scoring on a 1-yard sneak.
Gregory travels to Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Aug. 30 for a road contest. Scotland/Menno will hit the road for a second week in a row on Aug. 30 at Corsica-Stickney.
