A reminder that Menno Schools will have a 1:00 p.m. dismissal on Friday, February 27, 2026, to accommodate teacher in-service. We will serve lunch, and buses will run their regular routes.
Cornbelt Conference Junior High Oral Interpretation Contest To Be Held
The annual Cornbelt Conference Junior High Oral Interpretation contest is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the United Church in Canistota. Check in will be at 8:30 AM in the fellowship hall. The contest will be held in two classrooms and will run on a rolling schedule. Students can utilize the fellowship area for free time. Parking is available in the church parking lot.
Menno students participating in the contest are eighth graders: Ivana Schaeffer (poetry), Joanna Fergen (oratory), Audrey Mudder (dramatic), and Egan Mettler (humorous). Seventh grade students include: Aaliyah Schaeffer (poetry), Wesley Honomichl (oratory), Jaeger Elcock (dramatic), and Irah Rempfer (humorous). These students are coached by Mrs. Betsy Knodel.

Tonight the Scotland/Menno Trappers head to Plankinton for their first round of girls region basketball! The Trappers will take on the MVP Titans at 7pm.
Admission are $6 for adults and $4 for students. No passes are accepted. These are set by the SDHSAA.

Happy National FFA Week! Our FFA Chapter will be celebrating this week with the following dress-up days and activities.

It is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Thank you to all of our bus drivers who help get our students to and from school, home, and sporting events safely! We appreciate all that you do.

🏀 The #5 seed Scotland/Menno Trappers GBB team will travel to Plankinton on Tuesday, Feb. 24 for the Region 5A Tournament and play the #4 Mount Vernon/Plankinton Titans. Good luck Trappers. 🏀

MENNO — The Parker-Marion Pheasants claimed a 69-53 victory over the Scotland-Menno Trappers in prep boys’ basketball action on Thursday.
For the Pheasants, Colin Robertson recorded 17 points. Landon Wieman finished with 16 points. Jackson Donlan totaled nine points.
For the Trappers, Izayah Ulmer finished with 27 points and seven rebounds. Hunter Clark tallied seven points. Hunter Yosten totaled eight rebounds.

MENNO — The Viborg-Hurley Cougars defeated the Scotland-Menno trappers in a decisive 65-24 victory in prep boys’ basketball action on Tuesday.
For the Cougars, Brady Schroedermeier recorded 29 points. Nolan Kolthoff finished with 12 points.
For the Trappers, Hunter Yosten totaled seven points and six rebounds. Jarret Andretta tallied five points.
Viborg-Hurley, 16-3, travels to face Howard on Thursday. Scotland-Menno, 5-13, hosts Parker-Marion on Thursday.
MENNO — The Viborg-Hurley Cougars took down the Scotland-Menno Trappers, 36-29, in prep girls’ basketball action on Tuesday.
For the Cougars, Tatum Lyons totaled 12 points. Olivia Hansen tallied 10 points.
For the Trappers, Lexie McNinch finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Hope Starwalt recorded 10 points.
