The Trapper Cheerleaders are raffling off a beautiful quilt (see attached picture) made by Marlene Hauger! It is perfect for laying out at track meets, staying warm at Friday Night Lights during the football season, that graduating senior in your life, or just for yourself! Get your tickets from any basketball cheerleader - tickets are $5 for 1 ticket or $10 for 3 tickets. The drawing will be held on Friday February 14th during halftime of the varsity boy's game at the double header against Gregory in Scotland. Tonight the Scotland/Menno Trappers play double header basketball against the Wagner Red Raiders in Scotland! There is no longer a C Team Game scheduled for tonight. JV starts at 5:00pm, Varsity Girls at 6:15pm, and Varsity Boys at 7:30pm. The Scotland Elementary students who attend cheer camp will be preforming during halftime of the varsity boys game. Congrats to Leah Crick, Ava Wyldes, Tommy Roe, Trent Crick, Egan Mettler, and Parker Vaith on participating in the first ever DWU Middle School Honor Band today! It was a fun filled day of music making with a fantastic concert to finish it out.





Menno received third place at the one act competition today. William and Ervin received superior acting awards.


Good luck to the Menno One-Act Play cast and crew as they perform at regions today in Sioux Falls at 1:00.

If it seemed a little extra loud in the gym last night, it might be because the cheerleaders recruited 20 extra cheerleaders! Trapper Cheer Camp in Menno was a huge success last night and we want to thank all of the campers for participating and parents for supporting them!

Gayville-Volin 59, Scotland-Menno 47
MENNO — The Gayville-Volin Raiders beat the Scotland-Menno Trappers 59-47 during boys’ basketball on Tuesday.
Spencer Karstens led the Raiders with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Preston Karstens had 13 points. Nate Selchert had 11 points.
Trent Guthmiller led the Trappers with 13 points. Treytan Bult finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.
The Raiders are now 8-4 and the Trappers are 2-9. The Raiders’ next game is in Volin against Mitchell Christian on Monday. The Trappers’ next game is in Scotland against Wagner on Thursday.

Gayville-Volin 56, Scotland-Menno 37
MENNO —The Gayville-Volin Raiders won 56-37 against the Scotland-Menno Trappers during Girls’ Basketball on Tuesday.
The Raiders were led by Taylor Hoxeng, who had 18 points. Maia Achen had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Ellyana Ulmer, Lexie McNinch, and Kyliah Bjorum all had nine points for the Trappers.
The Raiders are now 10-3 and the Trappers 3-8. The Raiders’ next game is on Tuesday in Tripp against Tripp-Delmont-Armour. The Trappers’ next game is on Thursday in Scotland against Wagner.

The Trapper Varsity Boys fell to GV 47-59 after putting up a tough battle. Keep working hard boys.

The Trappers Varsity GBB team lost to Gayville-Volin 37-56 tonight in Menno. Keep fighting Trappers!





The Animal Science class got some Vitamin D and fresh air today while learning cattle external anatomy.











Today the HS Geometry Class went out and found how tall the flagpole is! They were able to do this by using a clinometer and tape measure. On average, they found it was 22ft! If you think that is accurate or not, let us know!

Tonight the Trappers take on the Gayville-Volin Raiders in Menno! JV starts at 5:00pm (girls will only have 2 quarters due to low numbers), Varsity Girls start at 6:15pm, and Varsity Boys at 7:45pm.
It is also Cheer Camp Night for the Menno elementary students participating in cheer camp. Campers should be in the Old Gym by 7pm with their cheer camp t-shirts on. Parents of Menno cheer campers get into the game for free.

Menno was just informed that the one act play will now be presented at 1 o'clock on Wednesday instead of 2 o'clock.
This change is due to a school withdrawing due to students who have been sick. If you were planning on going to the performance, take note of the time change.

Come one and all to the Menno High School production of "The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet" by Peter Bloedel. Tonight is the night, January 27th at 7:30 P.M. in the City/School Auditorium. This is Romeo and Juliet like you've never imagined.


It is cheer camp week! Today is our final practice Monday January 27th from 3:30pm-5:00pm. If your student attends the Menno Elementary School they will attend practices in Menno and then only perform at the basketball game in Menno on January 28th - please have them in the Old Gym by 7pm. If your student attends the Scotland Elementary School they will attend practices in Scotland and then perform only at the basketball game in Scotland on January 30th - please have them there by 7pm.
Parents of cheer campers get in for free for their students' performance.
