Trapper Football Fans---Game change for Aug. 25.
The Scotland/Menno at W/WS/SC football game scheduled for August 25 will be played at Wessington Springs at 7:00 pm. This is a change from Sanborn Central as they have work going on at their field.
Trapper baseball fans! We need to see you at the Pond in Parkston tomorrow to cheer on the 16U Teener team at 4:00 vs. Alexandria in the State 16U State Tournament. #GoTrappers

There will be an athlete/parent meeting for those students in grades 6-12 interested in going out for cross country on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 6:00 pm in the main gym. Coach Rachael Massey will be taking over the CC program this year.

The meeting will be held at the Jim Woehl Athletic Complex/Johnny Woehl Field. Athletes and parents must attend to meet the coaches and go over expectations, practice schedules, athletic forms, etc. for the upcoming season. Go Trappers!

Sioux Falls, SD-The National High School Athletic Coaches Association has named the 2023 NHSACA Coach of the Year Winners. To be considered for this award, a nominee has been determined to have outstanding coaching longevity and win-loss record, championship years, awards received, and service to the coaching profession and the State of South Dakota athletes.
The 2023 Coach of the Year winner from South Dakota was Don Barnes of O’Gorman High School, Coach of the Year in Tennis. He was honored at the National Awards Banquet at the NHSACA 54th Annual Conference in Lincoln, NE on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Athletic directors and coaches in 19 sports attend this annual event throughout the United States.
Other finalists from South Dakota were Jeff VanLeur of Bridgewater-Emery High School in Football, Joey Struwe of Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in Athletic Administration, Tom McGough of Miller High School in Boys’ Cross Country, Troy Sturgeon of Brandon Valley High School in Girls’ Track & Field, Kirk Hogen of Vermillion High School in Golf, and John Donovan of Chamberlain High School in Wrestling, Merle Ask of Aberdeen Central High School in Soccer, Bill Vincent of Sioux Valley High School in Boys’ Basketball, Todd Thorson of Ipswich High School in Girls’ Cross Country, and Cindee Mutchelknaus of Menno High School in Assistant in Girls’ Sports.
Also inducted into the 2023 NHSACA Hall of Fame were Ken Bruckner of Menno and Doc Michel of Black Hawk. Ruth Rehn of Greeley, CO was also selected as the Kathy Holloway Woman of Inspiration Award recipient, and Virg Polak of Watertown received the NHSACA Distinguished Service Award.

Football players are reminded to bring ALL completed physical forms to the meeting on Tuesday night. Forms can also be turned in to the office before the meeting.

High school Volleyball practice will start August 10th at 7:30-11am. We will have mandatory camp sessions Friday 1-3:30pm & 6-8:30 pm and Saturday 9-11:30am.
