Picture Retake Day
Today at Menno High School our Juniors and Seniors participated in a Reality Check. The goal of this program was to simulate real world financial experiences for teenagers and to aide them in their knowledge of money, math skills, attitudes about choices and money values of the real world in a realistic, but safe environment. They had the opportunity to make decisions, modify decisions to change their life impact and financial impact. There were booths that were required for them to visit; Occupation Station, Housing Station, Hot Wheel Station, Groceries, Tele-Communication, Utilities, and the Insurance Station. There were also optional booths for them to attend like the Financial Investment Station, Charity/Volunteer and National Guard. We even had our Sheriff and a Deputy join us to pass out tickets and citations. At the end of the program If the students had no money left, they will received a Zero candy bar and if they had money left they received a 100 Grand candy bar.

Crazy to think that basketball season is right around the corner!! We will be bringing back “Little Wolves” this year but calling it “Future Wolves”. We will be having 5 practices and the kids will play a “game” at halftime against each other. If you are interested in donating money for this fundraiser, we will be using the donations to sponsor kids so that everyone has an opportunity to join in on the fun! If you are interested in making a donation, please reach out to Coach Aisha Abbink or Coach Katie Huber! Thank you!

There was a publishing party today in Eighth Grade English. The students finished their narratives on personal experiences and shared them with one another as well as the seventh grade. Glow notes were written to the authors of each story. Celebrating success is wonderful.
