FREEMAN — It took five sets for Freeman to beat Menno 25-9, 25-18, 15-25, 23-25, 15-4 in Class B volleyball action in Freeman on Thursday.
Rylee Peters led Freeman with 21 kills and 22 digs. Vaida Ammann had 28 assists and 27 digs; earning her 1000th dig. Cadence Hofer had nine kills and 12 digs. Claire Loofbourrow had three aces and 17 digs.
Kylie Guthmiller had eight kills, four blocks and 20 digs. Lexie McNinch had eight kills, nine blocks, 16 digs and four aces. Madison Schaeffer had 19 assists, 13 digs and five aces.
Freeman is now 11-4 and Menno is 1-13. Freeman’s next game is in the Great Plains Lutheran volleyball tournament in Watertown on Saturday. Menno’s next game is in the Sanford Pentagon volleyball tournament in Sioux Falls on Saturday.

Congratulations to the Wolves Varsity VB on their first win of the season tonight 3-1 over Viborg-Hurley. Good job ladies.
The Cougars beat the Wolves 2-1 in JV VB action in Menno.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-20, and 8-15.
6th Grade Wolves VB lost in two to the V-H Cougars. Set scores 25-23 and 17-10. The last set was a shortened match due to time constraints.
The 7th grade Wolves VB team lost in two to the V-H Cougars. Set scores were 25-9, 25-20.
The Menno 8th grade VB team lost in three sets to Viborg-Hurley in Menno.
Menno won 25-21, lost 25-11, and lost the last set 15-7.
