You are all invited in two weeks to join us for our Veteran's Day Program hosted by the National Honor Society! On November 11th, 2026 the program will start at 2:00pm in the New Gym and there will be coffee and bars following the program in Old Gym.

Join us for an afternoon of music, Patriotic Pen and Voices of Democracy readings, presentations of Quilts of Honor and Quilts of Valor, and help us celebrate the brave men and women that help keep our country free.

We celebrated "Senior Night" for VB and CC tonight and the Wolves won the battle over the Highlanders 3-1. Congrats ladies.

FB report from the online Yankton P&D FREEMAN— Second seed Freeman scores eight touchdowns in a 56-0 win No. 15 seed Scotland-Menno on Thursday at Freeman High School Track and Football Complex in the first round of the Class 9A state football playoffs. The game ended at halftime in run rule. “We haven’t played in two weeks, and we had our bye last week, so we came out a little sloppy,” Freeman head coach Dustin Tschetter said. “I mean, can’t really say sloppy. We put 56 points on the board, but I thought we didn’t execute quite as well as I would of hoped we would. But you know we’re so explosive that we don’t have to execute every play to score. We just need to get our athletes the ball in space and let them do what they do. And you saw that tonight.” Scotland-Menno received the opening kickoff, and Freeman (9-0) had a big play on the first play of the game as junior Easton Schetter intercepted the ball to give Freeman starting field position at Scotland-Menno’s 40-yard line. “Just to get that momentum on our side,” Tschetter said. “Our kickoffs tonight weren’t great. Normally we put them in the back of the end zone, so create turnovers, get short fields, that’s huge. And then you go score right away and you go up 6-0, and all of a sudden they’re chasing us. So good start.” After the interception, junior wide receiver David Walter caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Tayden Kerrigan for the first touchdown with 11:36 remaining, and the two-point conversion failed for a 6-0 lead. It was the first of Walter’s three touchdowns in the game, as his second was a 17-yard touchdown reception with 6:03 remaining in the first quarter to go up 12-0, the 2-point conversion failed, and his third touchdown was on a 10-yard touchdown reception with 11:37 remaining in the second quarter, and the 2-point conversion was good for a 36-0 lead. “Just a good kid, tall, athletic, ability to run people over and run away from them,” Tschetter said. “We have a lot of receivers like that. So, just really good game tonight for him. Tonight (this game) was his night. Who knows what happens next week. It could be a different receiver because we got a lot of them.” Junior running back Axle Schultz also scored multiple touchdowns with two rushing touchdowns. His first touchdown was a 5-yard rushing touchdown, and the 2-point conversion was good, for a 20-0 lead with 2:57 remaining in the first quarter. His second touchdown was a 2-yard rushing touchdown with 11:37 remaining in the second quarter, and the 2-point conversion failed for a 42-0 lead. “It’s huge to spread the ball around for us (and) get everyone involved,” Tschetter said. “(Schultz) has been running really well here the last couple of weeks. Our starting running back’s been out the last three weeks, and so he’s taken over the role of being our starting running back, and probably going to carry that role because I don’t think our other running back is going to be back. …” Junior wide receiver Brody Sorensen caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Kerrigan and the 2-point conversion was good for a 28-0 at the end of the first quarter. Kerrigan connected with Tschetter for a 42-yard touchdown pass, the 2-point conversion failed, for a 48-0 lead with 6:22 remaining in the second quarter, and Tschetter had a 19-yard reception for a 56-0 lead with 3:44 remaining in the second quarter. Scotland-Menno (4-5) head coach Tom Sattler was pleased with his team’s performance and said they showed fight throughout the game. “We never gave up,” Sattler said. “We kept trying different things. Trying different people in different positions. They kept trying every snap we played. Even though the scoreboard was very unkind to us, they just kept trying to fight and find a way to move the ball down the field and make a play. So, I am not disappointed in their effort tonight.” The Trappers now look forward to next season. “It was kind of a season of up and downs for us,” Sattler said. “We had a great win against Hansen, which really catapulted us in the right direction, but then we stumbled a game, and we felt we should have won and that would have set up a different scenario for us here in the playoffs instead of having to come to Freeman opening night. … We made it in. Got to play a little bit of free football. Got to work with the eighth graders and the freshman a little bit longer, and get ready for next year.” Freeman now looks toward playing Howard next week in the second round of the playoffs. “I think we’re excited,” Tschetter said. “We got Howard coming here. We’ve already played them this year. … We know they’ll be physical. They’ll be prepared to come in here and play. And obviously, they have a very strong tradition. They were in the (Dakota)Dome last year, so they expect to come here and win.
