This Friday, August 16th is the deadline to drop off school supplies for students in need. We have A LOT of apples left to be picked at the school and a few at Salem Reformed Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Please pick an apple and then drop off your purchases at the school in the entryway by Friday at 8am. We will be packing backpacks Friday morning. Thank you for your donations and help!

Thank you to Darred Nelson from Ortho Institute, Sioux Falls, for conducting the Sway Concussion Testing today. We had 78 students in grades 7-12 complete the test. If student-athletes missed the test today, we will have them make it up once school starts.

Sway Concussion Testing conducted by Darred Nelson, Orthopedic Institute Athletic Trainer at Menno High School. **Required testing for athletes in grades 7-12 at Menno High School on August 6, 2024, in Room 440 (enter the building through the northwest door). This testing is required for any athlete in grades 7-12 and there is no cost to the student. We will need athletes to sign up for a time slot and arrive 5 minutes before your testing time. Athletes will need to plan about 45 minutes for the test. Each group will be a maximum of 15 students. Students will need their cell phone/tablet for the testing, if they don't have one, the school will provide a tablet, temporary access to Wi-Fi will be available. Athletes should download the Sway Medical app prior to arriving for testing. **Please review the Sway cheat sheet document that will be sent out via social media and on the school website. Scotland/Menno Trappers Football practice for HS starts on Thursday, Aug. 8 Practice will be held in Scotland from 8-10 am. MS FB practice starts on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Menno from 4-6 pm. Practice and game schedules can be found on the website/app under Documents/Athletics. There will be a Parent/Athlete meeting on Aug. 14 in Scotland at Baker Field 5:15-5:45 pm. Go Trappers!!

Congrats Trappers 16U team on advancing to state *game report from Yankton P&D online Teener Baseball: Keppen, Trappers Top Baltic For Region 3B Title SCOTLAND — Scotland-Menno’s Kory Keppen tossed a two-hit shutout as the Trappers topped Baltic 3-0 in the Region 3B VFW Teener Baseball Tournament, Tuesday in Scotland. The victory advanced the Trappers to state, Aug. 9-11 in Platte. Kory Keppen homered and Lane Pavel doubled for Scotland-Menno. Izayah Ulmer, Trent Guthmiller and Brayden Ziegler each had a hit in the victory. Kory Keppen struck out nine in the seven-inning victory.

Congratulations to Menno junior Hunter Yosten who attended the Ryzer Junior Day National Showcase in Minneapolis last week! He was one of only two South Dakota players invited to the event. Hunter is a great student-athlete representative for Menno and the Trapper program!
