This morning we handed out our final Elementary awards of the year. The Character Counts winners for April did a fantastic displaying the trait of "Citizenship." 2026 Senior Izayah Ulmer will be hosting a Youth Track Meet on June 1st at 3pm for his Senior Project! This event is free for kids ages 3-5 and grades K-5. There will also be an adult 4x100m relay! Concessions will be available and t-shirts for preorder. All proceeds will go to the Scotland/Menno Track Team. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three finishers in each heat. Questions? LMVC Track Meet report from the Mitchell Republic online Wagner sweeps team titles at LMVC meet WAGNER, S.D. — Wagner took home both the boys and girls team titles at the Little Missouri Valley Conference meet in Wagner on Tuesday. The Red Raiders took home the boys title with a top score of 120, only seven points better than second place Scotland/Menno (113). And on the girls side, Wagner topped second-place Avon (136) by 11 points with a final score of 147. Avon (96) and Andes Central/Dakota Christian (90) rounded out the top four on the boys side while Scotland/Menno (104) and ACDC (66) rounded out the girls top four. Wagner claimed six total event titles, three on the boys and girls side. For the boys, Grady Bartunek won the 3,200-meter run (11:17.23), Jackson Rolston won the 110-meter hurdles (17.38) and the team of Gabe Houseman, Jesse Zephier, Connor Gabel and Ethan Gabel was victorious in the 4x400-meter relay (3:51.87). On the girls side, Addison Cuka won the 100-meter run (13.63), Kendra Van Duysen won the 100-meter hurdles (18.28) and Ashlyn Koupal took home the high jump title (5-3). The Trappers yielded multiple multi-event winners on the day. Bryce Sattler won the boys 400-meter run (52.55) and Izayah Ulmer won the 1,600-meter run (4:46.05) while both ran legs in the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:05.79) with Micah Goehring and Daniel Schaffer. Hunter Yosten also took home the shot put (48-9) and javelin (153-11) titles. On the girls side, Elle Hlavac took home the 800-meter (2:36.79) and 3,200-meter run (12:52.31) titles. Ellyana Ulmer was the 1,600-meter run champion (5:41.52) and ran legs in both the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:52.72) and 4x400-meter relay (4:35.07). Hlavac also ran a leg in the 4x400. Trinity Bietz also took home the shot put (39-3.25) and discus (117-0) titles. Avon’s Aziah Meyer played a part in four event titles for the Pirates. He took home individual titles in the boys 100-meter (11.71), 200-meter run (23.53) and long jump (21-0.5). He also ran a leg in the 4x200-meter relay (1:37.58) with Easton Sees, Grayson Ratzlaff and John Fathke. Other multi-event winners included ACDC’s Josie Brouwer, who won the girls 200-meter run (27.39) and 300-meter hurdles (49.02). Bon Homme’s Owen Bures also won the boys pole vault (9-6) and ran a leg in the 4x100-meter relay (48.31) with Major Aarstad, Ethan Wagner and Isaiah Crownover.

The Scotland Menno Trappers traveled to Tyndall (middle school) and Springfield (JV) today for their last meet of the season. In the JV division Adie Rempfer finished in 13th place!  In the middle school girls division Joanna Fergen got 15th, Emma Rempfer got 7th, Sutton Bueber got 4th and Campbell Mogck got 2nd place!  In the boys division Brigham Rokusek got 6th and Corwin Schaeffer got 2nd place!  Many other young golfers had great days and missed placing. Excellent job today young Trappers. Coaches Schlimgen, Muller and myself are proud of the work you have all put in this season.  Everyone has made improvements since the beginning of the year. Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 Survive McCook Central/Montrose By GameChanger Media Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 built a 5-run lead in the third inning and then held off McCook Central/Montrose's charge for a 6-5 victory on Monday in Menno. McCook Central/Montrose closed the gap by scoring on an error, a pop out, and a ground out. Trinity Bietz collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Trinity Bietz hit a home run to center field in the third inning, tripled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 got on the board in the first inning after Kylie Guthmiller doubled, scoring one run. Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 committed an error, which helped McCook Central/Montrose tie the game at one in the top of the third. Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Trinity Bietz that drove in three. Kylie Guthmiller earned the win for Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025. The righty surrendered six hits and five runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Zaidee Huls took the loss for McCook Central/Montrose. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one. Josalyn Traupel led McCook Central/Montrose with one run batted in. Zaidee Huls, Cami McGuire, Landry Andal, Mya Morrison, Ashtyn Deknikker, and Ella Deknikker each collected one hit for McCook Central/Montrose. Mya Morrison stole three bases. McCook Central/Montrose stole four bases in the game. McCook Central/Montrose didn't commit a single error in the field. Mya Morrison had the most chances in the field with six. Next up for Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 2025 is a game at Hanson on Monday.
