SENIORS: Here we go the first scholarships of the year. SD Elks Vocational Scholarship is worth $1,000 and is given to a student who will be enrolling in a Vocational or Technical Program by the Fall of 2022. The deadline is November 15, 2021.
The 2021-2022 South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation Scholarship is open to any high school Senior or current Post Secondary Freshman that is attending a South Dakota school and is a current Farmers Union member or becomes a member. There are three of these scholarships each worth $500 and the deadline is Oct. 22, 2021 at 8am.

SENIORS: Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship is worth $4,000-50,000 and is available now and the deadline is November 15, 2021. Eligibility: Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply. Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks. High school graduates are not eligible to apply. Find out all the details on the Counselor’s Corner or contact Mrs. Fischer.

Seventh grade students and preschool and the begindergarten students are enjoying being reading buddies this year. Mrs. Stepanek and Mrs. Knodel are enjoying watching the children reading to one another.

Congratulations to the JH Volleyball team for placing 2nd in the Cornbelt Conference Tournament today! They fell to Bridgewater-Emery in the Championship with three close sets 21-25, 25-21, and 10-15. Good job, Lady Wolves 🏐

There is a small grandstand with seating at the south end of the grandstand for visitors or on the west side of the field where there are 2 small sets of bleachers.
The student section and cheerleaders are on the west side of the field.

SENIORS: College free application period this year has been extended. The dates you can apply to most SD colleges and universities FREE OF CHARGE will be Oct. 18- Nov. 30. See Mrs. Fischer for more details.

Baker Field will host the annual middle school football jamboree on Saturday, September 11, starting at 10:00 a.m. Five teams will be participating: Avon, Corsica-Stickney, Gayville-Volin, Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian, and Jim River (Scotland/Menno) with two games being played at the same time. It will be a round-robin format with teams playing everyone (game will be shortened with 30 total plays on offense). Concessions will be provided by the after-prom committee. This is a football fundraiser so activity tickets will not be accepted. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students, good for all day.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Vermeer, in Freeman, is holding an open house on Friday, September 24th from 1-3 pm for activities and plant tours. If you are interested in checking out what Vermeer has to offer please let Mrs. Fischer know by Tuesday, Sept. 21 either in person or by email

Volleyball tonight vs. Etha. C match starts at 5:15, JV at 6:15 and varsity to follow. It is also parent’s night for CC and VB. Parents for CC will be introduced first and then VB parents. Introductions will be after the completion of the JV match, around 6:45/7:00. Go Wolves

FCCLA members have until Wednesday, September 15 to register for the SD FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference in Huron. The registration forms are on the FCCLA bulletin board. Registration fee is $50 which includes two meals. Write the check to "Menno FCCLA Chapter". We will leave Menno at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 3 and be back in Menno by 3:30 pm on Monday, October 4.
