The school building will be closed the week of June 8-12 and possibly the week of June 15-19 depending on the progress of the flooring project. You can still access the library, wellness room, and both gyms as needed.

State B Golf meet update from the Yankton P&D online. Go Trappers!! Class B Girls BROOKINGS — Platte-Geddes ranks eighth and Scotland-Menno ranks 14th after the opening round of the South Dakota State Class B Girls’ Golf Championships, Monday at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings. Dell Rapids St. Mary’s shot an opening round 239 to hold a one-stroke lead over Miller (240). Clark-Willow Lake (251) is third, followed by Deubrook Area (260), Philip (261) and Chester (271). Clark-Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich and Miller’s Jayce Pugh share the opening round lead, each at 4-over 74. Chester’s Jadyn McDonald and Webster Area’s Bailee Ninke each shot 77. Platte-Geddes shot 280 on the opening day, led by Mallory Gant’s 85, putting her in a tie for 19th. Leah Schuman carded a 92, Randi Oberbroekling shot 103 and Hannah Schuman shot 129 for the Black Panthers. Scotland-Menno scored 314 on the opening day, led by Campbell Mogck’s 96. Macy Rokusek shot 108, Sutton Bueber shot 110 and Kailin Odens finished at 113 for the Trappers. Irene-Wakonda’s Alana Olsen finished at 93. Bon Homme’s Leah Whittington shot 104. Avon’s Rowan Brandt shot 109, with Raegan Brandt shooting 110. The second and final round of the tournament is scheduled for today (Tuesday). State B Boys: Centerville’s Cullen Pollard is tied for 11th at 76. Alcester-Hudson’s Liam Moumy is tied for 20th at 78. Corbin Tople of Centerville is tied for 25th at 79. Gayville-Volin’s Nate Larson and Freeman’s Tannen Auch each shot 82, Aiden Thompson of Andes Central-Dakota Christian shot 85, Irene-Wakonda’s Hadley Nielson shot 87, Freeman’s Trey Maske shot 90, Scotland-Menno’s Brigham Rokusek shot 92, Alcester-Hudson’s Emmett Manning shot 94, Viborg-Hurley’s Gabe LaCroix finished at 110 and AC-DC’s Lane Niewenhuis shot 115.

State A Track Meet recap from the Yankton P&D online. Congrats again to Micah and Izayah. We're very proud of you both for your hard work and dedication. ------------------------ For the Scotland-Menno Trappers, Micah Goehring finished sixth in boys’ triple jump (42-4 1/4) and Izayah Ulmer finished sixth in Class A Boys’ 800-meter dash (1:58.78). Even though he expected to place higher, Ulmer expressed pride in his final placement. “I haven’t had an individual medal all year so I’m happy that I got this one,” said Ulmer. Ulmer described his success as a confidence booster for Saturday’s finals while also recounting his previous wins throughout the season. “In the middle of the year I had a really big breakout race and that really helped me get motivated for this race and the medley,” said Ulmer. “Getting this medal before tomorrow is a really big boost.” Ulmer attributed his medal-winning performance to the camaraderie that the Trappers have fostered amongst themselves. He specifically mentioned the recently graduated Bryce Sattler as one of his biggest supporters. “In the last few years, Bryce Sattler really helped me a lot,” said Ulmer. “Even during the meets last year, we really pushed each other to get better. As a team, we have a mentality of knowing that we’re good we just need to battle for the win.”

Congratulations to Izayah Ulmer on placing 6th in the 800 M run at the State A Boys Meet. Izayah ran a personal best time of 1.58.78 and set the Menno school record. Way to go Izayah. We're proud of our senior runner.

Congratulations to Micah Goehring on placing 6th in the Class A Boys Triple Jump with a leap of 42’4”. Way to go Micah. Get the title next year in Class B! Go Trappers.

State track meet recap from the Yankton P&D online Trappers’ Guthmiller Earns Second In ‘A’ Girls’ Javelin BY JONATHAN NYAMWEYA sports@yankton.net May 28, 2026 SIOUX FALLS— Amongst a slew of outstanding performances throughout the day, Scotland/Menno’s Kylie Guthmiller managed to stand out on the opening day of the South Dakota State Class A Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Sioux Falls. Guthmiller earned a score of 121-4 which placed her just below Sioux Falls Christian’s Sydney Schaap (121-5) who won the championship. Undeterred by her second placement, Guthmiller expressed pride in her effort during today’s events and throughout the season. When reflecting on her performance throughout the season, she admits that it began with some difficulty. “The beginning was a little rough but I just had to stick with it and keep practicing,” said Guthmiller. Guthmiller also explained that she was impressed by her skills out on the field today. “Today was pretty exciting. When I first saw how far I threw the javelin I was genuinely surprised. I’d say it was my best performance of the season,” said Guthmiller. Guthmiller is optimistic about the rest of the track meet and the prospect of maintaining a good record. “Placing high is a great feeling and I hope that we can continue to do well for the rest of the meet,” said Guthmiller.

Big congratulations to Kylie Guthmiller for placing 2nd in the Stare A Girls Javelin today at the state track meet. She threw 121 feet and 4 inches. Way to go Kylie! Go Trappers.

The Trappers SoDak 16 game report from the Yankton P&D online. Avon 6, Scotland-Menno 2 AVON — The Avon Pirates scored four runs in the sixth inning to claim a 6-2 victory over Scotland-Menno in the Class B softball SoDak 16, Tuesday in Avon. Brielle Voigt doubled twice for Avon (16-7), which will face Hanson in the opening round of the South Dakota State Tournament, June 4 in Aberdeen. Rowan Brandt doubled and singled. Rilyn Thury posted a double. Harper Kracht and Abby Gretschmann each had a hit in the victory. Scotland-Menno had four hits, singles by Ivana Schaeffer, Kimberly Kubal, Kylie Guthmiller and Lexie McNinch. Kaydence Metzger picked up the win, striking out five. Guthmiller struck out 10 in the loss.
