GAYVILLE — The Gayville-Volin Raiders defeated the Scotland-Menno Trappers, 51-19, in girls’ basketball action on Tuesday.
For the Raiders, Taylor Hoxeng totaled 13 points, six rebounds and six steals. Paisley Dimmer finished with 12 points and seven steals. Maia Achen recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
For the Trappers, Lexie McNinch finished with six points and six steals. Kailin Odens tallied five points.
Gayville-Volin improved to 11-1. The Raiders travel to Madison to face Milbank on Saturday. Scotland-Menno moved to 1-10. The Trappers travel to play Wagner on Thursday.
Gayville-Volin 47, Scotland-Menno 34
GAYVILLE — Will Fairley scored 18 points to lead Gayville-Volin past Scotland-Menno 47-34 in boys’ basketball action on Tuesday.
Preston Karstens finished with 13 points for Gayville-Volin. Nate Selchert added 10 rebounds in the victory.
Izayah Ulmer scored 10 points and Hunter Clark had nine points for Scotland-Menno.
Gayville-Volin, 7-5, is off until a Feb. 2 trip to Mitchell Christian. Scotland-Menno travels to Wagner on Thursday.

Today the Menno One-Act Play heads to their Region Competition in Sioux Falls! The Wolves will perform around 3pm. Break a leg!
In Pierre today, Menno 8th grader Audrey M. got to meet Governor Rhoden and tour the capitol building with the VFW. She won first place for her essay in the Patriot's Pen Contest, out of over 1500 entries in the state. She will represent South Dakota in the National VFW competition.

MENNO — The Freeman Flyers claimed a 55-31 victory over the Scotland-Menno Trappers in prep girls’ basketball action on Thursday evening.
For the Flyers, Rylee Peters finished with 16 points. Cadence Hofer recorded 15 points. Vaida Ammann tallied 13 points.
For the Trappers, Kailin Odens totaled 12 points. Lexie McNinch finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
