Congratulations to this week's fan of the game Elle Hlavac! She really showed her Trapper Spirit for Scotland's homecoming! This may have been our last game of the regular season, but we had fun with you all! Thank you to all of our fans for joining us each week, for our student section for bringing the energy and keeping it loud, and for our parents who come out and support our players and cheerleaders every week!

Here are the official results from the Region 3B CC Meet at Freeman Valley View Golf Course yesterday. Congrats again to Zoe for advancing on to the state meet next week in Rapid City. Good job to all the runners for their efforts and dedication this season.

Region 3B Cross Country--recap from the Yankton P&D online FREEMAN — Scotland’s Elle Hlavac finished in fourth place with a time of 20:20.7 in the girls’ race and Freeman’s Lane McCune finished in fifth place with a time of 17:00.19 in the boys’ race in the Region 3B Cross Country meet on Wednesday at Valley View Golf Course. The Freeman boys finished in second place with 23 points, Avon finished in third place with 33 and Scotland finished in eighth place with 62. The Scotland girls finished in fourth place with 41 points and Freeman finished in fifth place with 41. Menno finished in seventh place with 51. Hlavac, a sophomore, will be going to state for the third time. “I was very happy with (my performance),” Hlavac said. “I got a PR (personal record) of 20:20.7. I am just happy I got a high place to go to state.” Hlavac has not placed yet at state, and she said that will be one of her top goals going into the state meet. She said the mindset going into state is to just go into it excited and stress free. McCune was happy to finish in fifth place alongside teammates Luke Miller in eighth place and Collin Randall in the top 20 to qualify for state. “I think it is pretty good, because we definitely have some good runners, and Luke and Collin have been pushing me all year,” McCune said. “I think we all competed really hard today, and it went well. “After seeing my other two teammates finish kind of close to me, I was pretty happy, because I think we did pretty good as a team today.” McCune will be running at state for the fourth year in a row as a junior. “This year, I need to focus on being out with the front back more, and try to get into the top 10 this year,” McCune said. Other top 20 placers to advance to state in the boys: Avon’s Rance Kuhlman, sixth place, 17:04.44; Avon’s Cale Cooper, 11th place, 17:58.44; Tripp-Delmont-Armour’s Andrew Bitterman, 12th place, 18:03.47; Scotland’s CJ Bjorum, 18th place, 18”30.68; Tripp-Delmont-Armour’s Taite Olson, 20th, 18:51.89. Other top 20 placers to advance to state in the girls: Tripp-Delmont-Armour’s Jordan Chessmore, fifth place, 20:24.59; Tripp-Delmont-Armour’s Lyndsey Chessmore, sixth place, 20:25.84; Menno’s Zoe Schaeffer, 13th place, 21:16.12; Freeman’s Finley McCune, 14th place, 21:34.02; Freeman’s Ava Schultz, 18th place, 21:44.45; Scotland’s Mina Bjorum, 19th place, 21:47.51.

The Wolves had a great day at their region meet. The team was able to gift our very own, Mrs. Liebl with a bouquet of flowers to show their appreciation for her support of the team. Congratulations to Zoe on her qualifying run!

Congrats to Zoe Schaeffer for placing 13th at region cross country and advancing to state. Great job to the other Wolves runners.

Congratulations to Zoe Schaeffer for placing 13th at the Region 3B CC meet today at Freeman. Zoe advances to the State B Meet for the fifth year in a row. The Menno Girls CC team finished in 7th place. Valerie placed 24th, Savanah 34th, Ivana Schaeffer 38th, and Leah Crick placed 41st. For the boys, Trace Miller finished in 34th and Egan Mettler was 40th Great job Wolves!

Menno cross country team have Region 3B Meet at the Freeman Golf Course on 10/14; races start at 1pm.

Good luck to the Wolves Cross Country team at the Region 3B CC Meet at Freeman on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The varsity girls will run at 1:00, varsity boys at 1:25 and JV races to follow. The top 20 finishers in the varsity races will qualify for the State B CC Meet at Rapid City on Oct. 24.

Scotland/Menno Middle School Football Season Recap

The Scotland/Menno Trappers middle school football team had an amazing season this year. Coaches Kevin Janish and Jerico Shape helped lead the team to a perfect record of 11 wins and 0 losses. The Trappers worked hard, played as a team, and never gave up. They also won both the Alcester-Hudson Jamboree tournament and the Scotland/Menno Jamboree tournament. It was a season full of hard work, big wins, and great memories.

The Trappers also had some big wins on their way to becoming champions of the Scotland/Menno Jamboree tournament. They beat Bon Homme 16-0 in a tough game. The Trappers earlier in the season faced Platte-Geddes in the championship game of the Scotland/Menno Jamboree and came away with a hard-fought 24-16 victory. The boys played hard until the very end and showed how much they wanted to win. These two wins helped make the Scotland/Menno Jamboree Championship another special moment in the Trappers' perfect 11-0 season!

Coach Kevin Janish said, “It was a great season. Seeing these young men grow and improve made it all worth it.” Coach Jerico Shape said: “I am very proud of this team and everything we did this year. Going 11-0 and winning both tournaments was something special. These boys worked hard, listened to their coaches, and got better every week.“
