MENNO — The Freeman Flyers claimed a 55-31 victory over the Scotland-Menno Trappers in prep girls’ basketball action on Thursday evening.
For the Flyers, Rylee Peters finished with 16 points. Cadence Hofer recorded 15 points. Vaida Ammann tallied 13 points.
For the Trappers, Kailin Odens totaled 12 points. Lexie McNinch finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
Freeman improved to 7-3. The Flyers travel to Irene to face Lyman in the Blizzard Buster Classic on Saturday. Scotland-Menno moved to 1-9. The Trappers travel to play Gayville-Volin on Tuesday.

MENNO — The Freeman Flyers defeated the Scotland-Menno Trappers, 70-42, in prep boys’ basketball action on Thursday evening.
For the Flyers, David Walter recorded 26 points and seven rebounds. Tayden Kerrigan finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Oliver Waltner tallied nine points.
For the Trappers, Izayah Ulmer totaled 13 points. Hunter Clark finished with eight points. Hunter Yosten recorded seven rebounds.
Freeman improved to 9-2. The Flyers travel to Mitchell to face Wessington Springs in the Hanson Classic on Saturday. Scotland-Menno moved to 3-8. The Trappers travel to play Gayville-Volin on Tuesday.

Tomorrow night is Military Appreciation Night! All Veteran and Active Duty Military Personnel can get into the games for free and will be introduced before player introduction of the Varsity Boys Game.

Please be aware that beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026 the Stone Church Road Bridge will be closed and stay closed through all of 2026 and into 2027. Additionally, Yankton County Road 587 (Stone Church Road) and County Highway 217 (Northwest Jim River Road) will be closed to through traffic.

PreK and 1st Grade students got to see the Zoomobile today and learned about a rat, a bearded dragon, and a tortoise. They were able to pet the tortoise on her shell before leaving.

SCOTLAND — Scotland-Menno outscored Andes Central-Dakota Christian 10-7 in the fourth quarter to claim a 37-34 victory over the Thunder in girls’ basketball action on Friday.
Kailin Odens led Scotland-Menno with 14 points. Emmalyn Heckenlaible added nine points.
Lily Muckey scored 10 points for AC-DC. Lilly Niewenhuis and Halle Olson each had eight points for the Thunder.
Scotland-Menno travels to Emery to face Bridgewater-Emery on Monday. AC-DC travels to Corsica-Stickney on Tuesday.
🏀Boys' Basketball: Trappers Topple Thunder🏀
SCOTLAND — Scotland-Menno outscored Andes Central-Dakota Christian 11-4 in the second quarter to take the lead, then held on for a 61-54 victory over the Thunder in boys’ basketball action on Friday.
Izayah Ulmer finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Scotland-Menno (3-6). Hunter Clark had 18 points. Hunter Yosten finished with eight points and nine rebounds, Micah Goehring scored eight points and Jarret Andretta added three steals in the victory.
Jamien Medicine Horn and Edward Ulrich each scored 20 points for AC/DC.
Scotland-Menno travels to Emery to face Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday.
Scotland-Menno won the JV game 44-37.
