Menno School District

We are all clear and back in the school building after an evacuation this morning. There was a gas smell, and the Menno Fire Department and Northwestern responded quickly. They tested the valve on the south side of the building and determined we could return to classes. Everyone is safe and school is running on schedule.

Schedule change for the Cornbelt Conference Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The Cornbelt Cross Country meet will now be held in Freeman tomorrow due to the
rain in Howard. They have a lot of low spots on their golf course that would impact
the meet.

The Bon Homme Cross Country meet scheduled for today has been cancelled.

Picture Day is Wednesday September 30th!

Individual School Pictures will be taken in the morning, and Fall Sports Pictures will be taken afterwards. Scotland students will be bussed over.

Corsica-Stickney 44, Scotland/Menno 24 MENNO — Max Vanden Hoek threw for five touchdowns on Friday night as Corsica-Stickney topped Scotland/Menno in a nine-man football game. Vanden Hoek finished 11-for-17 passing for 231 yards. He hit Sawyer Schmidt for a pair of touchdown passes, Reed Timmermans on a 59-yard scoring strike and connected with Reed Woerner and Chase Bailey for scoring passes, as well. Timmermans finished with 108 receiving yards on three catches, and Vanden Hoek also rushed five times for 75 yards. Charlie Lefers added a 1-yard touchdown run and finished with 45 yards on the ground for the Jaguars. For Scotland/Menno, Jarret Andretta was 19 for 42 passing for 261 yards and two touchdowns, finding Riley Keppen nine times for 100 yards and a touchdown. Hunter Clark was also a touchdown recipient, while Andretta also had a rushing touchdown. Adam Munkvold finished with 14 Trapper tackles and Jaxon Stoebner added 10. Corsica-Stickney (2-2) is on the road again for a meeting with Avon on Sept. 25. Scotland/Menno (2-3) hits the road to play De Smet on Sept. 25.
