Souper Bowl Week is February 8 to 11 with the elementary students challenging the middle school/high school students to see which team will score the most points for donating soup and crackers. The following points will be awarded: 1 pt. for a 10.5 oz. or smaller can of soup 1 pt. for 3 packages of ramen noodles 2 pts. for a can of soup larger than 10.5 oz. 3 pts. for a bag or a box of crackers Elementary students will deliver the soup and crackers to their individual classrooms. Middle school and high school students deliver their donations to the family and consumer sciences classroom. On Friday, February 11, middle school and high school students will have a choice of which movie to watch after they have checked in with their 6th period teachers. The movies will end at 3:15. Elementary classes will choose what movie to watch in their individual classrooms. The soup and crackers will be delivered to the Bethany Food Pantry in Freeman which serves the residents of Olivet, Menno, and Freeman communities. This service project is sponsored by the Menno FCCLA and FHA Chapters.

FCCLA members, see Mrs. Stoebner by Friday, February 4 to discuss your plans to compete in STAR Events at the SD FCCLA Leadership Meeting. You can compete individually or on a team. FCCLA members, earn points for Outstanding FCCLA Member by completing the STEP One Scavenger Hunt Sheet located on the FCCLA bulletin Board. Deadline is Friday, March 18.

It’s time for the annual celebration of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day! Menno High School supports NGWSD to increase visibility for female athletes and the positive influence of sport participation. February 2, 2022, marks the 36th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day. “Lead Her Forward” continues to be the theme for this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) and our kickoff of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. More information can be found at National Girls and Women in Sports Day at www.NGWSD.org. Menno High School will honor senior outstanding female athletes who exemplify the qualities of excellence in sports skills, leadership, self-discipline, and perseverance. Certificates will be presented to Raygen Diede, Paityn Huber, Grace Nusz, and Bridget Vaith on Feb. 12 before the start of the girls’ varsity game vs. Ethan.
