The Varsity Trapper Golf teams FINALLY got to compete today with the boys playing in Burke and the girls hitting the links in Corsica. For the boys, Treytan Bult missed placing but played extremely well and had his best round since his freshman year! For the girls Ayla Rokusek fired a 97 for 10th place, Kailin Odens also shot a 97 for 9th place and Evie Foss rounded it out with a 96 for 8th place. As a team the girls finished in 2nd place as well!! Way to go Trapper Golfers!!!

The Menno boys finished 8th in the 4x800 today and improved their best season time by 7 seconds. Relay team consists of Isaac Fergen, Izayah Ulmer, Erick Buechler, and Bryce Sattler. Good job Wolves!

The Menno girls reset the school record in the 4x800 today and finished 6th at the Howard Wood Relays. The foursome is Ellyana Ulmer, Zoe Schaeffer, Nora Robb, and Ashton Massey. Congrats!

Nutrition is an important part of the education process – the people who serve breakfast and lunch at schools in South Dakota provide the fuel necessary to ensure that your students have the energy to do the work of learning. School Lunch Hero Day was established to celebrate the contributions of those who provide food for students. This year, the day falls on May 3, 2024. Thanks to our amazing kitchen staff and custodial crew of Jessie, Summer, Ashley, Pam, Janae, Ivana, and Tony. We appreciate all you do.

Scotland/Menno Trappers JV softball team started off the season with a 23-7 victory! Congrats girls!

The Preschool and 4th grade classes got to go to the Nursing Home today. We got to do a craft and enjoyed a snack!

The 4th graders have had an egg-citing day today! We have had 5 chicks hatch so far! Meet Harold, Potato, Bob, Donut, and Mr. Monkey!

Reminder of the Senior Showcase tonight from 6:00-7:00 in the main gym. Come out and discover what the seniors did with their senior projects. The 7-12 spring concert is also tonight at 7:30 in the old gym.

New to Menno student AnaBeth K. was tasked in journalism with meeting a student in each upcoming high school grade and interviewing them to make a social media graphic! She did a great job, and we think she found some pretty fabulous students!

Thank you to everyone who donated yesterday! We had a lot of first timers and familiar faces. All together 35 units of blood were collected. We are proud of the contributions of our students and the Menno community!

Club baseball report from Yankton online paper MENNO — The Freeman-Canistota-Marion Sticks took an early 2-0 lead and held on for a 2-1 victory over Scotland-Menno in club high school baseball action on Wednesday. Tannen Auch and Sawyer Wipf each had two hits for the Sticks. Rocky Ammann doubled. Evan Scharberg, Luke Peters and Easton Tschetter each had a hit in the victory. Jayce Walloch doubled twice for Scotland-Menno. Bryce Satler and Riley Keppen each had a hit. Tayden Kerrigan picked up the win, striking out three over four shutout innings. Auch struck out five in three innings of relief. Trent Guthmiller took the loss, striking out five in his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Today was National School Principal Day! On behalf of the Menno School District, we would like to thank Mr. Foss, our PK-5 Principal, and Mrs. Mudder, our Colony/MS/HS Principal, for making a difference in the lives of children! We appreciate everything you do for our students, staff, families, and community!

The library is hosting a USED BOOK SALE! Find some books to read over the summer or to take on vacation. Come to the library to see what's available – prices from 25 cents - $2! Any students in grades 8-11 interested in participating in girls and boys basketball next year, please sign up in the office. There will be a meeting on Thursday, May 2 at Scotland at 2:45. The bus will leave at 2:20 and we should return by 3:45/4:00.

Thank you to all staff and students who contributed on Hat Day to support the Kubal family from Scotland. With your support, we were able to raise over $800 for them to help with medical expenses.

We had some big winners this morning in the Elementary, as our final Character Counts and Super Reader awards of the school year were given out, along with the Student of the Month! The Character Counts winners did a great job displaying the trait of Citizenship in April. They included: Camden H., Brinley H., Blaise R., Trace H., Oliver G., Corbin B., and Colt K. Super Reader were: Macie H., Jack M., Bo G., Kora F., Branson S., Anna M., and Jaeger E. Our April Elementary Student of the Month was Lillian W.! Way to go everyone!

All FFA members and their parents are invited to the FFA Banquet next week Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30p.m. A catered meal will be served, awards will be handed out, a recap of the year will be given, and new officers will be inducted.
